Mullingar U16 Boys Secure Thrilling Win Over Portarlington

In a closely contested match on Saturday, Mullingar RFC’s U16 boys triumphed over Portarlington with a nail-biting 22-21 victory. Held at Portarlington’s home ground, the game kicked off at noon and quickly revealed Mullingar’s strength in execution, skill, and discipline.

Mullingar opened with strong pressure and solid ball control, scoring their first try just three minutes in and successfully converting to lead 7-0. Errors in Portarlington’s line-outs offered Mullingar further chances, resulting in a second try by the 21-minute mark, which stretched their lead to 17-0. However, Portarlington fought back, breaking through Mullingar’s defense just before halftime, ending the half with Mullingar up 17-7.
