Young Mullingar side faces tough test at DLSP DLSP 38 – Mullingar 3 Mullingar’s senior men suffered a 38–3 defeat away to a strong DLSP side, as a young squad continues to find its feet in the early stages of the season. A welcome positive for Mullingar was the return of Fionn O’Hara at out-half. Seeing him back in the number ten jersey offered encouragement to the travelling support and gives the squad a boost as it looks to build momentum. DLSP, who narrowly suffered relegation last season, provided a demanding test. Injuries have added to Mullingar’s challenges, but further players are expected to return as their GAA commitments conclude, strengthening the options available in the weeks ahead. Club president Denis McDermott pointed to the youth of the team and the encouraging signs within the squad, while particularly welcoming O’Hara’s return to Mullingar colours. Although the result was disappointing, the focus now turns to regrouping and building towards next week. The club thanks everyone who travelled to support the lads.
